What is a Team?
DEFINITION OF A TEAM - a small number of people with complementary skills, who are committed to a common purpose, and approach for which they hold themselves mutually accountable.
Major components of successful improvement teams:
- Content knowledge (tools and methods of QI)
- Understanding team roles
- Productive meetings
- Good group dynamics (positive relationships)
- Effective conflict resolution, problem solving, and decision making
Note these three traits:
- Complementary skills
- Committed to a common purpose
- Hold themselves mutually accountable
